Open-source notices

The complete notice, with every licence in full, is notices.txt. The same file ships inside every copy of CompHero.

CompHero itself is not open source. It runs four open-source programs as separate processes, and the application around them is built with open-source libraries. Each of those is licensed to you by its own licensors under its own licence. Nothing in our Terms of Service limits, restricts or adds a condition to any right one of those licences gives you, and where the two conflict, that licence prevails. Section 1.10 of the Terms says so.

1. Programs CompHero runs

These are separate executables, shipped alongside the application and run as their own processes.

The exact build of each one, including the configuration FFmpeg was compiled with, is named in notices.txt.

2. Libraries built into CompHero

The application is an Electron program written in TypeScript and React. Electron is under the MIT licence and carries Chromium and Node.js with it, whose own notices ship as the file LICENSES.chromium.html in every copy of CompHero. React, React DOM and Framer Motion are under the MIT licence, as is most of the rest; a few parts are under the BSD, ISC, 0BSD, Blue Oak or Python licences.

notices.txt lists every one of them with its version, its licence and that licence in full.

3. Source code for these components

This section is about the third-party components listed above and nothing else. CompHero is proprietary software, its own source code is not open source, and nothing here offers it or entitles anybody to it.

Some of the licences above entitle you to the source code of that component. For any of those, we will give you the complete corresponding source for the build of that component in your copy of CompHero, and only for that component. Email comphero@dashmedia.so, naming your CompHero version and which component you want, and we will send it to you by download, or on a physical medium for no more than what that costs us. This offer is good for three years from the day you received your copy, and it is good for anyone who has that copy, not only the person who bought it.

Every one of these projects also publishes its own source, and the addresses are in notices.txt next to each component. That is the same code, from the people who wrote it.

4. Names

FFmpeg, yt-dlp, Deno, Electron, React and Chromium are the names of their respective projects and are used here to identify the software CompHero includes. Their authors do not endorse CompHero, and none of them is affiliated with Prune Media Corp.
